UW senior Joshua Nelson was injured last Friday when his motorcyle was struck by a dark sedan in the University District in Seattle, Washington. The driver's identity is unknown and Mr. Nelson is asking for any witnesses to come forward.

Apparently the collision occurred when the sedan took a right turn as Mr. Nelson was also turning, swiping him on its passenger side. Mr. Nelson was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

It is very important that Mr. Nelson and his family report his accident immediately to any insurance carriers who may have provided coverage for the motorcycle and, possibly, any other vehicles owned by Mr. Nelson and his family. "Uninsured motorist" coverage applies to unidentified or "phantom" vehicles. Insurance policies often have reporting requirements for accidents involving phantom vehicles.
