Eugene Boy Killed in Ski Accident

A 13-year-old boy died while skiing with his Boy Scout troop. He was at the Willamette Resort on an intermediate run and lost control then hitting a tree rootball. He died on the mountain from his injuries.

An Oregon State Police trooper from the Gilchrist work site responded to the ski area to gather information.

Assistance at the scene was given by members of the Willamette Pass Ski Patrol and Crescent EMS. Air Life air ambulance reportedly also responded to the scene to assist.

The victim was in seventh grade at Cal Young Middle School in Eugene Oregon. His mother was on the ski trip with him at the time.
