Toddler Accidentally Run Over by Family Member

18-month old Mariana Lopez was struck and killed, apparently after a family member accidentally backed over her.

The accident occurred the 26200 block of 195th Place Southeast in the Covington area of southeast King County. The girl was admitted to Harborview Medical Center but died from her injuries. Police are still investigating the accident.

This very sad case is made even more complicated by the fact that it involves a family member. Any insurance companies involved should simply step up to the plate and pay their policy limits. Unfortunately, that will not come close to compensating the family for their loss.
