The Tacoma News Tribune reports today that another teen driver has been charged with vehicular assault and homicide. The underage driver admitted to drinking about five cans of beer before taking off in the Jeep. Some people feel that the driving age should be at least as high as the drinking age because driving a vehicle is controlling a deadly weapon.

Everybodytalksabout was driving at a high rate of speed in the 4500 block of Auburn Way South about 1 a.m. March 15 when he lost control of the Jeep and went off the road, according to court documents.

The Jeep did a half-flip, was airborne for nearly 30 feet, hit a dirt pile, became airborne again and hit a tree. It then fell upside down and burst into flames. Two passengers were trapped inside and died.

For the full story, see The News Tribune.

The passengers who were killed and the bystanders who were injured in this accident have legal rights. There are victims' compensation programs that should be contacted. In addition, there may be insurance claims that can be brought on their behalf.

The family members of these victims should contact a personal injury attorney immediately. Legal rights begin to erode as soon as the accident occurs. Make sure that you protect your legal rights and follow through on your legal obligations when something like this happens.
