Eight-Car Pileup in Bellevue; Curious Driver Rear-Ended

Traffic on SR 520 became a parking lot this morning after a driver reportedly slowed to look at a two-car crash on the side of the road to which the state patrol had responded. Apparently the following drivers did not slow and the chain reaction crash resulted.

One of the vehicles was driven by someone with a suspended license.

It's interesting that the authorities seem to think the curious driver was to blame. Certainly every driver has a responsibility to drive safely and pay attention to the road. However, the following drivers also had duties to maintain a safe following distance. There will be a lot of argument about blame in this case!
