Driver Admits to Being High on Painkillers

A four-car crash that happened on Highway 167 Monday afternoon in Pierce County was apparently caused by a driver who admitted he was high on OxyContin.

The driver rear-ended the preceding driver, who was taken to Tacoma General Hospital with a broken pelvis. The other drivers were reportedly uninjured.

A driver who is foolish enough to drive while under the influence is unlikely to have sufficient insurance coverage or assets to pay for people he hurts. Injured persons or their relatives should immediately report accidents and injuries to their own health and auto insurance carriers to receive the benefits they paid for.
